Hollidaysburg, PA, United States – Curry Rail Services has received its AAR M-1002 certification. After a comprehensive audit process, this technical certification confirms that Curry Rail meets all the requirements of the AAR’s M-1002 Program, enabling its Tank Car Division to expand its offer and perform a wider scope of maintenance services on tank cars.

This is not the first time that the Association of American Railroads has recognized Curry Rail as a major player in the railroad industry.  The company has previously earned AAR M-1003 & AAR S-2034 Certifications for rail car repair and rail car manufacturing. In addition to receiving its AAR M-1002 certification in 2021, Curry Rail has been recertified as an AAR M-1003 and an additional 3-year period.

In partnership with Penn State Altoona‘s RTE program, Curry Rail Services will be painting the program’s newly-acquired locomotive. The ideas for the design were chosen from a student contest and finalized by our expert design team at our sister company, Curry Designs. Curry Rail has developed and manufactured a full line of Maintenance of Way (MOW) flatcars. Fully customizable these flatcars can be built to customer specifications.

Some recent projects have included wood deck with side stake pockets, steel/flat deck (40’ and 50’) length, idler platform with end steps and railings, removable 20’ ISO container pedestals and more.

New railcars continue to roll off our production line. These cars are perfect for commodities like cottonseed, construction debris, and scrap service!

Since production orders begin in late Fall 2016, CRS has manufactured its 100th car. Rolling off the production line in late October, the car has already been released for revenue service for its customer. The 100th car is a 7200 Cubic Foot Gondola with a roll off tarp system installed, per customer specifications.
